Our team is uniquely qualified and ready to help

Every member of our team is professional and well trained. We conduct a thorough screening and interviewing process to identify the best home care providers, and only those who pass this process go on to complete training to deliver our special brand of home care and become Comfort Keepers®. What truly sets our people apart, though, is their natural gift for caring for others.

All Comfort Keepers pass extensive background checks and complete continuing education. They are bonded, insured and covered by workers' compensation insurance to protect our clients and their families.

I believe the best care comes from well-screened staff that is properly trained in home care. All Comfort Keepers® caregivers take part in continuing education about senior health issues. Comfort Keepers attend training sessions that focus on specific areas of care, such as end of life care, dementia, mental health/behavioral issues, diabetic cooking, and many others. This training is structured with area professionals that specialize in these topics.

In 2005, the Comfort Keepers Academy opened to provide comprehensive education to those wishing to make a career of professional caregiving. The school teaches students the physical skills of caring for an adult, as well as knowledge of aging issues, health conditions and cognitive-behavioral changes as people age. Students graduating the Comfort Keepers Academy leave with a great opportunity to be hired in the healthcare field, and confidence in their ability to truly deliver great care. Even today, the Comfort Keepers Academy remains the only professional caregiving school in New Mexico.

Bob Mahon has worked for Comfort Keepers since 2010. He has nearly 10 years of experience working in the home healthcare industry, and brings a strong leadership to Comfort Keepers.

Dorothy O’Brien has over 25 years of experience in the human resources field. Not only is she loved by all employees because of her fairness and gentle leadership, she also directs the Comfort Keepers Academy teaching staff.
